Pillars of eternity 2 chanter beckoner11/23/2023 I've just started trying out the turn-based mode on a fresh playthrough, and I've tried making multiple builds and testing them out on the first cave after the ship crash at the beginning. Because of this, I played the first playthrough as a mage again, and chose the Troubadour subclass for Chanters for the second playthrough because of the reduced phrase durations. However, by the time I started playing it, a patch nerfed the -1 summon phrase benefit to a +1 phrase penalty. When PoE2 came out, I was really looking forward to the Beckoner subclass. On my first playthrough as a wizard, I loved using Kana's summoning invocations so much that I started my second playthrough as a Chanter immediately after the credits rolled. I usually really like playing mages in fantasy RPGs, and while I had enjoyed using some summoning spells in games like Baldur's Gate, it wasn't until PoE 1 that I realized I really liked playing as a pure summoning based class. TL DR I slept on the beckoner subclass because of the phrase nerf in the first couple of patches, but I'm immensely enjoying it in a new turn-based playthrough in PotD difficulty.
